Public Records Act Requests

Public Records Act Requests

As a public agency, Camino Union Elementary School District adheres to the California Public Records Act (CPRA) which requires that governmental records shall be disclosed to the public, upon request, unless there is a specific reason not to do so. Permissible exemptions from disclosure include documents that invade an individual's right to privacy (e.g., privacy in certain personnel, medical, or student records) or hinder the government's need to perform its assigned functions in a reasonably efficient manner (e.g., maintaining confidentiality of investigative records, official information, records related to pending litigation, and preliminary notes or memoranda).

This folder contains materials requested and disclosed by the Camino Union Elementary School District pursuant to the California Public Records Act:

Dear Camino School Board President Morris,

I’ve lived in Camino almost 50 years and in that time have known many of the school teachers and administrators. I worked closely with the PTA when they were taking over the Apple Hill Harvest Run. As one of the founding members of the Camino Community Action Committee, I’ve experienced the excellent working relationship we have with the school. Through all this I’ve always been extremely impressed with how the school educated our students.

Hearing and reading about the recent resignation of the District Superintendent has puzzled me. My experience has shown the School Board understands and works closely with all representatives of the school. Rather than listening to innuendo and questionable facts being thrown into the contentious discussions, may I suggest appropriate and allowable personnel actions be made public?

 ·         Can all employee agreements with the former Superintendent be provided?

·         It would also be beneficial to make public any Board agenda items and minutes that address the employment agreement.

I appreciate being allowed answers to these questions and you may contact me via email. I do know the California Public Records Act will determine what can be made public. If possible, can my request and any information you can provide be made available on the school website? My hope is these real facts can clear any uninformed concerns voiced to this point. Thank you for any help you can provide.

 Sincerely,

 Maryann Argyres
